September Sighing

With autumn just around the corner, I guess it's time for a post related to it.

I am SO excited, it's not even funny! I've already gone to Yankee Candle and bought a couple of autumn candles - Autumn Wreath, and Apple Cider - and I'm just waiting to light them (I hate waiting).

I have a couple lovely sweaters just waiting to be worn. Obviously I've got plenty of tea. The only thing that's missing is that crisp, chilly air. Ya feel me?

This is, in my opinion, the best time of the year, when the colors on the trees are vibrant, and the smells in the air are a cross between wet leaves and apple pumpkin spice, with a side of burning wood and toasted marshmallows.

There is nothing quite like it. I know it's not just me, because most everyone I know loves this season too. There's just something about it.

I just wish the peak would last more than a couple weeks.

I don't know what effect it has on y'all, but it makes me want to cozy up by the fire, with a cup of hot cocoa, tea, or apple cider, and either read a good book, or watch The Lord of the Rings. I don't know, that's just what I feel like doing. ;)

It also makes me want to travel the world as a photographer, for some reason (which, by the way, is on my bucket list).

Out of all the seasons, this one is the one that brings me the most joy.

What about you? What are your favorite things about autumn?
Have a lovely week, ya'll!

P.S. I am designing a new template for the blog, so if it's being weird, don't freak out!

Back to School Update

Well, with school starting back up this past week, I felt like it was time for a little life update from me. Just to give y'all an idea of what I'm up to these days.

I STARTED SCHOOL! I got in a day late, but hey, at least I'm in! I am in a Graphics Technology program, full-time at a Technology Institute, here in Kansas. It is a one year program, so I will graduate in May. My classmates are great! There's a variety of ages and backgrounds (as one would expect), and there are even a couple homeschool sisters!
Prayers would be appreciated. That I would be a light in my classroom, and that I would not be affected by the worldliness in there.

My goal, as many of you already know, is to work for Answers in Genesis/Creation Museum, as Photographer/Graphic Designer. This has been a dream of mine for several years, and I am so excited to finally see it coming true! As a young photographer who is passionate about God's Word from beginning to end, I feel like He has called me to AiG. Not only do I want to bring glory to the Creator through my art, I also want to work with AiG to reach the generations that are leaving the church.

I'm no longer working for Cafe Barnabas. It was time to move on, so I could fully focus on school, and meeting my goal. Lord-willing, by this time next year, I will be in Kentucky!

For now, I am doing my best in school, and just waiting for the day when I get my dream job. *isn't freaking out*
Ask any of my family or closest friends... They'll all tell you that when I'm not there, I'm wishing I was there. I couldn't dream of another place to be, bringing glory to God.

So that's just a little snippet of me right now. I don't think I can even fully express my excitement, without sounding like a total weirdo, and I'm okay with that. ;)

Have a lovely week!

The Best Summer Ever

Hello to my faithful readers, and happy weekend!

Well, the summer has (unofficially) ended, and our interns (the best interns ever) have gone back to school.

Now I'm sitting here sorting through my iPhone pictures.

Here are some pictures, and memories... The ups and downs of our summer.

June 7th, 2016
Poor Brad had to build a backdrop at 10:30 at night with a bunch of people watching him. "Good job, Brad." "Keep going, Brad."
Okay, we did help a little. "We" meaning Tim, Ryan, and I. ;D

The day I thought everything was going to fall apart. It seemed like everything was against us that day. Kevin, Debbie and Ryan were supposed to leave for Wisconsin early that morning. That didn't happen. I walked into the cafe to find this monstrosity of a puddle, that had leaked into the jewelry store below us.

One of the mall directors told us to repaint the backdrop Brad built. It seemed like nothing was going right. But after some prayer, lots of hard work from Reidar, Ronnie, and Jordan we got it all figured out, and Ryan, Kevin, and Debbie made it safely to Wisconsin.
They were gone for two weeks.

The day Jordan hated life, because we got an order of bubble supplies, and he had to organize it all. TWO PALLETS.

June 29th, 2016
When we finally got a "Square Stand" and Brad set it up.

 July 13th, 2016
That week Pokemon Go came out, and thanks to Jordan, suddenly there was division within our bubble straw ranks.

When our summer theme songs came on...
Ride

Stressed Out

Sail - The general rule for this song was to turn it up every time it came on. We will never listen to that song the same way again.

And now, thanks to Jordan and Tim, I have been in the Twenty One Pilots family for three weeks now.  And I like more songs than JUST Stressed Out and Ride, FYI. ;)

 July 16th, 2016
Our "outreaches" were fun, though sometimes stressful. We had a different event for kids in the mall every week, and sometimes twice a week.

We had a lot of fun. XD

The times we played "Werewolf" to unwind. These time were honestly one of my favorite memories of the summer.

July 25th, 2016
Another favorite is this... I'd been wanting that C.S. Lewis quote on our wall for years, and Reidar did it this past week. [insert excited Lizzy sounds] I expressed my excitement A LOT as this was going up.

July 28th, 2016
A professional "cupping" took place on Thursday. We tasted several "mate's" (pronounced "Ma-tay") side by side, to try and figure out what the best one to bring in is.

Moving out at 10:15 last night.

We had fun times, and we had stressful times, but we got through it all with Jesus, teamwork, and Twenty One Pilots.

Today

We have mixed feelings today, as our friends departed this morning. Glad that they were able to spend the summer with us, but sad that it went by so quickly (this post wasn't even the half of our time together).

Oh well. We'll plan to visit them soon. And they'll definitely have to return that favor.

All in all, it was a great summer. It went by like that, but it was good. We miss them all already.

Have a great rest of the weekend!
